November Vendor of the Month!

I am happy to introduce you to November's Vendor of the Month, Kristen Minkler, aka The Broken Board. Kristen is extremely talented and makes some beautiful wood signs and decor pieces for the shop. Here is a little bit about Kristen:

Kristen Minkler
Wife to Clayton (12 years) Mother to Jayden 9years, Rallen 5 years, and a new little one in November!
Nurse at the local clinic in Phillipsburg for 4 years and hospital for 6 years prior to that.
Love to do anything crafty. I started by doing my kids scrapbooks and it has grown from there.

Bio: I grew up on a small farm in North Central Kansas. I went to Kensington School. There was about 500 people in the town. I love being around people and kids and creating with others. I took woodworking in High School and loved that. I had started out looking in to a woodworking career but was afraid I would not be able to make it, so switched to nursing. Even though I switched career paths I still have the love of woodworking and crafting. My husband and I were out fixing fence one day and I spotted some wood that I thought would make a great sign for myself. I started my new venture with redoing things in my own house. I have made lots of signs and custom décor, up to my own bedroom furniture for myself. I had friends asking me to make them items as well. We have made several family outings to find wood out of old barns and old window frames. I love being able to bring some of the old buildings back to life in a new way. Many evenings you can find me out in the garage after the kids are in bed. It is a wonderful form of stress relief !

My most popular items right now are the custom signs that I have been creating. I also have been doing some designs on old windows, glass etching, making shelves, and some bigger items. If there is something that you would like made just ask and I can probably make it.

I am so thankful to have a husband that has helped me along with my projects and finding the old wood or great finds. I am grateful to have a hobby that I enjoy doing and also bringing special pieces to others homes. I enjoy making custom orders, and coming up with new ones that can be treasured by others as well.

I am thankful to be able to display and sell my craft items in Nicole’s shop. I enjoy visiting the shop and seeing what everybody else has created as well.

And I am happy to have her items in the shop! Here are some photos of items she currently has in the shop. More will be coming this month!

I love that many of her items are functional...with clips to hang items on, etc. She really does beautiful work.

Be sure to stop in and check out Kristen's items!

Happy November!

Vendor of the Month: Elizabeth Bladt

I am very proud to introduce you to Craft Corner's Vendor of the Month, Elizabeth Bladt. Her business is called Hooked on Crocheting and I am so happy to have her products in my shop!

Before I show off some of her amazing products, I will let Liz tell you a little bit about herself:

'Name: Elizabeth (Liz) Bladt

Craft Expertise: Crocheting, Embroidery, random home decor projects, some jewelry making, and I'm a Pinterest ADDICT!

Bio: I grew up in a small town of about 100 people, there were always friends to play with and a lot of time to play outside. I grew up watching my mom complete many cross-stitch projects.. I enjoyed spending time with my grandparents, who only lived about two miles away. My Grandma Marge taught me how to embroider, and she was always good about letting us work on "projects" at their house, even if they made a huge mess! As a former teacher, she knew creativity was part of being a kid! When I was a sophomore in college, I was taking an Interterm class in January and had some free time. I bought myself a book on crocheting and started teaching myself how to make scarves and a few simple blankets. My great-grandmother had been an avid crocheter, and seeing the love that went into her projects inspired me to keep going with it. Crocheting became a form of stress relief in college, and continues to be stress relief for me after teaching Kindergarten during the day. Many evenings and car trips with my husband, Chad, consist of some sort of crochet project in my hands! I love finding new ideas on Pinterest as well! :)

My most popular creations right now are my hats- I make lots of Owl hats for kids, and my Husker hats are becoming even more popular! I make hats for newborns all the way up to adults, mug cozies, some jewelry and other styles of hats and scarves. If you don't see something that you're looking for….always ask, I can probably make it!

I'm so thankful to have a hobby that I love, and do something that others can enjoy! I love doing custom orders for customers who are looking for something special. I've had the privilege to make some items for new babies that are used in photos. It's so neat to say that I'm helping to create heirlooms and memories for families!

I'm very appreciative of Nicole for allowing me to have my items in her shop- it's great to have a place where creativity is showcased! Support your small businesses!'

Here are some of the items Liz has in the shop...there is more coming, which I am very excited about!

August Vendor of the Month-Audra Johnson

Craft Corner's Vendor of the Month for August is Audra Johnson! Before I show off her beautiful items, here is a little about Audra:
Name: Audra Johnson
Craft Specialties: Crocheting, Jewelry Making, Home Decor, Furniture Refinishing, Paper Journals, Acrylic Paintings, and now making Paracord projects (Survival Bracelets).

Bio: Growing up on a farm near Clay County meant I never had time to be bored. I was always working on some kind of project if I wasn't helping my parents. My mother is an experienced and decorated quilter and maternal grandmother is an experienced "crocheter." You could say crafting is in my genes. At my brother's wrestling meets, I would work on pony bead projects, crochet scarves, or make fun bracelets for the fans. I love seeing a recipient's face after giving them a creation. To this day, my hands are always busy creating and I'm a big fan of recreating ideas from Internet inspirations. (LOVE PINTEREST!!)

In college I developed a passion for pottery and acrylic painting. After getting married, I have made a lot more time for my crafting and my love for making things from scratch- and the best part is still giving my creations away! Decorating my home has been a lifelong dream and I truly love doing it. I am so thankful for the creative part of my personality that God has instilled in me. Without my crafts and hobbies, I can't imagine how boring and less fulfilling life would be.

My most recent creations are the survival bracelets. They look so cool and are great for all ages of either sex!

After learning about Nicole's beautiful shop, I decided to try selling my creations. Like a lot of other crafters, we usually don't try to make a great profit- our goal is to keep our craft closets full of inventory-and as a housewife, it is always fun to feel the accomplishment of bringing home some income. I really appreciate Nicole for going after her dreams and helping create a great place for us crafters to get our creations out to more people. Thanks for supporting her and may God bless your day!

I am so happy to have Audra as a vendor in the shop...she makes beautiful items...here are just a few!

Scarves:
She makes beautiful scarves. Here are a few!

Notebooks:
Love these! These adorable notebooks are in 3 different sizes and are great for use as a journal or doodle pad. You could also stick these in your purse to have on hand for jotting down lists or giving to the kiddos when they need something to do.

Jewelry:
Audra also makes gorgeous jewelry. Here are a few examples. (Note...coming soon, all jewelry in the shop will be on sale! Check back for more info!)
(This one is child-sized...super cute!)

In her bio, Audra mentioned the survival bracelets. There is a large inventory in the shop, and you can also order customized ones as well.
You can put your order in at Craft Corner!
A close-up, these are so fun!
Some bracelets in Blue Hill colors...

Here is Audra's website, where you can find more info on the bracelets!
